Hugs & Things 2.0
Time for a new chapter
After 12.5 years of building, expanding, and continually adding to the collection, I’m now consciously choosing to focus.
Hugs & Things has grown enormously over the past few years, and I’m proud of that. At the same time, I realized that more isn’t always better. The collection grew, the choices multiplied, but the overview gradually faded into the background.
This step feels like a natural next phase for me. Not because I have to, but because it feels right. I want to work with a collection that’s strong as a whole: colors that enhance one another, work well together, and remain consistently available. Fewer loose ends, more cohesion.
With Hugs & Things 2.0, I’m bringing my range back to a core collection of 75 colors. A carefully selected range that comes together as a calm, clear collection that’s easy to coordinate.
The basic shapes will remain available in these 75 colors. That still leaves plenty of room to create, but with more direction and clarity.
The other colors and many other products will be leaving the collection. Figurine beads and accessories will be gradually curated more selectively, so everything works better together and the collection is stronger as a whole.
The sale of products leaving the collection starts on Monday evening, March 2.
At that time, you’ll also find a more detailed overview with all the practical information and answers to frequently asked questions. Below, I’m already answering some of the questions my announcement may raise for you.
What exactly does Hugs & Things 2.0 involve?
Hugs & Things 2.0 means I’m redesigning my collection.
I’m reducing the range to 75 core colors that work well together and form a cohesive whole. Basic shapes will continue to be available in these colors.
I’m making gradual choices about the figurine beads and accessories, so everything fits together better and the collection is easier to navigate.
The result is greater focus, more cohesion, and a clear direction for the years ahead.
What does Hugs & Things 2.0 mean for business customers?
For business customers, this means a more consistent and easier-to-coordinate range with a clear core of 75 colors.
Based on what you’ve ordered most often lately, I’ve made a considered, well-founded choice about which colors will stay and the direction I want to take..
By working with a fixed core collection, I can manage inventory more strategically and ensure greater stability and consistency. That makes it easier to buy with confidence and keep your own collection stable.
When does the sale start?
On Monday evening, March 2, the transition to Hugs & Things 2.0 begins. From that moment on, items that are not part of the core collection will be removed from the collection.
How much is the discount?
Products leaving the collection are offered at an attractive discount. The exact terms will be announced at the start.
Can I order now at a discount?
No, nothing in the shop will change until the sale starts.
What does “to leave the collection” mean?
Items being discontinued will not be restocked. The remaining stock is being sold at an attractive discount. These items are available while supplies last.
Will colors or shapes that are leaving the collection come back later?
No. Items that are being discontinued will not be restocked.
Why are so many colors disappearing?
I have chosen to reduce my collection to 75 core colors. This means that around 80 colors are indeed being discontinued.
The range included colors that looked very similar or were harder to combine. By selecting more carefully, the remaining collection works well together and continues to cover the full color spectrum.
I made this choice carefully and thoughtfully, with an eye for cohesion, clarity, and a strong foundation for the years ahead.
Which colors and shapes disappear exactly?
On Monday evening, March 2, we’ll announce which colors and shapes are leaving the range. In most cases, there is still enough stock available to switch over or place another order.
Please note: items that are being discontinued will not be restocked. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Do you work a lot with a particular color or shape and want to stock up? Then it’s best not to wait too long.
Will enough colors remain available?
Yes. The core collection of 75 colors remains the foundation of Hugs & Things. These colors have been carefully selected to work well together and include both neutral and more distinctive shades.
Will the figure beads remain part of the product range?
Yes. Character beads remain a very important part of the collection. However, I’m gradually working toward a selection that perfectly matches the core colors.
What happens to the accessories?
I also curate the accessories. Some products are being discontinued. Where appropriate, they will be replaced with accessories that are easier to combine and better suited to the new, more refined direction.
Keep B2B orders a priority during the sale? (B2B)
Yes. B2B orders continue to receive processing priority as always, so you can continue to meet your own delivery times.
Are orders shipped later during the sale?
I do my utmost to stay within the usual shipping time. Due to high demand, shipping may sometimes take a little longer, especially at the start of the sale.
How long does the sale last?
The sale runs while supplies last.
I recently bought a color cord. What does this mean for me?
The current color fan deck will remain usable during the transition.
However, some colors will be discontinued, meaning the fan deck will eventually no longer be fully representative.
Customers who purchased a color fan deck in the past six months will receive an updated version free of charge when the new fan deck launches. It will be included with a new order.
More information will follow when the new color fan deck becomes available.
