I am Marit, mother of three teenagers and the face behind Hugs & Things.

Ever since 2013 I work on this company with a lot of love.

Hugs & Things started in the summer of 2013 with handmade baby items made from crocheted beads. Because that was extremely time-consuming and the demand grew quickly, they quickly arrived silicone beads at. That turned out to be a bull's eye. At that time, silicone beads were hardly known in Europe. I even bought them in Canada and made teething rings and pacifier cords from them myself at the time.

At the beginning of 2015 I decided to change course and focus entirely on silicones. I was the first to start an online store in the Benelux (and probably Europe). loose silicone beads, purchased directly from the factories. I have been working with silicone and silicone since early 2015 Hugs & Things has grown into a webshop with a huge range and a unique color range.

What has never changed: I do almost all of it myself.

From purchasing to photography, from texts to customer service, from social media to packing and shipping orders (with nice packing help a few mornings a week). Many customers really appreciate that personal contact: You always know who you are talking to, and I am almost always available. (Yes, I'm still learning boundaries in that too 😉)

Safety and service are my priority.

I like to think along with you, find things out for you (for example regarding safety), take your time when you come shopping and try to prevent problems. Sometimes that means that I contact you because I think something doesn't quite fit what you want to make, or that I resend a delayed package so you don't have to wait.

Hugs & Things was created out of love, and that remains central to me.
