From attic to mega-warehouse!
What started as a small work nook in the attic has grown over nearly 12 years into a wonderful business with a 150m² warehouse filled with rows of shelving packed with colorful beads and materials, plus a beautiful showroom where you’re more than welcome to come and see all the materials in person (by appointment).
Since 2013, I’ve gone from the kitchen table to a little office in the attic, to an extension at home, to an office with off-site storage, to a warehouse, and since September 2024, Hugs & Things has been based in my dream premises in Elst (GLD). This is my final destination, with plenty of room to grow!
It’s incredible to look back on this journey and see how Hugs & Things has grown from a hobby/dream into an established name.

With no background in economics or marketing, I’ve really relied entirely on instinct since I started. The result? A wonderful business with a loyal customer base and a product range I’m incredibly proud of. Thanks to you, my amazing customers, all of this has become possible.
What do I have planned next?
Over the past few years, I’ve expanded considerably, and I have no plans to stop anytime soon. If you’ve been shopping at Hugs & Things for a while, you’ve surely noticed how much the range has grown. From new shaped beads to unique designs that make it even more fun to create things like keychains and pens.
But that’s not all: many more exciting additions are planned for the coming years!
My ultimate dream is to have (almost) every shape in the range in stock in every color. Until then, of course, I’ll also keep expanding the range with more variety, so there’s something lovely for everyone.
