Maybe you have recently seen it in the news:
"65% of the pacifier cords are unsafe".
(Read here more)
Following reports from consumers about unsafe pacifier cords, the NVWA (Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority) investigated 20 pacifier cords at the beginning of this year, and the results were not good ...
In response to reports that are made, teat cord makers are regularly examined by the NVWA. Because so many of you order the materials from me, I naturally come to the fore regularly as a supplier of the beads used.
Reason enough to subdue my company to a check, and that is why today there was a nice lady from the NVWA on the sidewalk for an inspection visit.
Together we walked through the company, I have answered a number of questions, and my certificates (for which I have had new tests performed regularly for over 5 years) and safety information on the website have been viewed and assessed.
But we have also been chatting about product safety for a long time, and how we can ensure that as many people as possible are well informed, and make as few people as possible articles that do not meet the standards.
What I already did, and will continue to do: encourage people to keep baby products as basic as possible, to make use of safe and sturdy materials, and to pay very good attention to the rules (such as the maximum length of a teat cord, or The fact that the clip must have holes).
Fortunately (although I really did not expect anything else) everything turned out to be in order, and I got the wonderful judgment: "No shortcomings found". It doesn't get better, haha!
And although it was secretly stressed, prior to the appointment (because you just never know what you might have overlooked ...), I am happy that I now have the confirmation that I am doing well and have everything well done!
So you can safely continue to order your materials for baby items from me.
Of course you always remain responsible for sensible choices in terms of shapes and materials and the firmness of your end product.
Let us please ensure that the market stays safe together!
Lots of love, Marit
