Did you know that Hugs & Things is just one person?
It always makes me secretly laugh: I am often addressed as “you” or “the Hugs & Things team”. Of course it sounds very professional, but the reality is very different (and especially smaller)!
Behind Hugs & Things is just… me. Marit.
Single mother, entrepreneur, creative, packer, customer service, buyer, photographer, website builder and everything in between. Okay, I get help with packing two mornings a week – and I'm very happy with that – but otherwise I do it all myself.

Perhaps you expect an online store to always have an entire team ready, that you can order until late and that your package will always be delivered the next day. But for me it works slightly differently. I do my best to make everything go smoothly, but sometimes it takes a little longer.
Because in addition to Hugs & Things, I am also a mother of 3 teenagers, I try to exercise regularly (my me-time), and of course the household needs to be kept up to date.
Fortunately, I really enjoy my work, and I still do a little dance every time a new order comes in (shhh: the 'ka-ching' that my phone makes when an order is placed is secretly one of my favorite sounds).
Because in addition to Hugs & Things, I am also a mother of 3 teenagers, I try to exercise regularly (my me-time), and of course the household needs to be kept up to date.
Fortunately, I really enjoy my work, and I still do a little dance every time a new order comes in (shhh: the 'ka-ching' that my phone makes when an order is placed is secretly one of my favorite sounds).
But anyway: working alone and being on almost 24 hours a day, no one can keep that up indefinitely. Every year I therefore take 2 to 3 weeks off in the summer to recharge. During that time you can simply order, but no packages will be sent.
And let's be honest: that summer holiday is also quite exciting every year.
Especially now that there are more and more business customers, it sometimes feels quite complicated and annoying that they cannot receive anything delivered for 3 weeks. That is why I have been announcing my holidays well in advance for a few years now. This way you hopefully won't be faced with any surprises.
I of course hope that everyone - private and business - will continue to order as enthusiastically as before during and after my holiday. Every year it's a bit stressful for me, but I trust that everything will work out. Those weeks of charging are absolutely necessary to be ready for you with fresh energy all year round!
